Show October 24th

I’m playing my first solo gig in a long while.  I have been playing gigs constantly since I was 14, and I needed a little break, but I’m really enjoying getting back to it.  Rehearsals have been going really well, and I’m starting to feel in command of my material again.  If you’re in the NY area, come down.  Travis Larson Band and Ad Astra are also on the bill.  Both are incredible bands to see!  7PM at KJ Farrel’s 242 Petit Ave. Bellmore, NY 11710

Quick updates

I’ve had a very busy year in the studio.  In the last year and a half or so, I’ve written 150 pieces for film and television and I’m also working on some new music for a solo release.  I will update here as soon as new music is ready to be released.  This music is a bit more on the rock side of things, and some of the most straightforward songwriting I’ve done.  I’m enjoying this direction and I’m excited to share new music with the world!  In the meantime, you can check out my most recent record “The Eightfold Path” on just about all digital platforms.  I suggest using Bandcamp, because they offer lossless versions of the music.  They also are offering my first record “Pathos and Logos” there as well.  More updates soon!

Italia Straps and Gig Archive

Aug 2, 2016

I’ve been using Italia Leather Straps for years now, and I highly recommend them. They are incredibly comfortable, high quality leather. check them out at http://www.italiastraps.com/

I’m also working on assembling a gig archive. It’s been fun going back and looking at all these great shows over the years. This is a work in progress and if any of you remember a show that is missing, please send me a message.

New Blog Entry: Everything I Ever Wanted to Know I Learned From My Guitar

Be the Worst Player in the Room

We’re guitar players.  Let’s be honest.  We crave praise.  We love being the best player in the room.  It’s a great feeling when all of the preparation you’ve done in your life brings you to that point of mastery…When you have the confidence to play without fear…it’s a trap…

The need to achieve, to be the best player in the room can get in the way of real progress.  We start avoiding situations that take us out of our comfort zone.  We avoid the embarrassment of possibly making mistakes.  Once this mindset gets a hold on us, it can turn into a narrowing of your playing experience.  Slowly you start taking gigs that are only safe, and soon that feeling of being the best in the room isn’t enough to satisfy you, and then the whole experience starts to suffer.  Read more
